The Studio
DC Editions is a dedicated platinum printing studio. We have been working with a broad range of photographic practitioners, from the most well known and leading fine artists to professional/commercial photographers in the country.
As well as printing single layer platinum and palladium prints we also offer the option of creating multi-layered platinum/palladium prints and are the only studio in the U.K printing using this technique. Multi-layering of platinum increases the maximum density and tonal depth of a platinum print compared to a single coated platinum print. This technique was used by Master platinum printer Irving Penn (Click the Multilayer Prints tab above for further information)
In order to create a platinum/palladium print, a digital contact print negative is initially made the same size as the final print. This important process takes place in house as this gives the client more control and enables more efficient and higher quality final print results. We print sizes 10x8 inches upwards to a maximum of 34x28 inchs and are able to print single images as well as editions.We also print Gum over Platinum, Cyanotype, Kallitype and Vandyke Brown.
